Lac du Bonnet and the surrounding area truly is a Four Seasons Playground and has a variety of recreational activities to enjoy year-round, whether you’re a long-time resident or seasonal visitor.

The gateway to cottage country, Lac du Bonnet is a superb summertime spot with more than 60 kilometers of rivers and lakes and many trails. Come to swim, fish, boat, waterski, hike, bike, golf, or simply sunbathe on the serene shores or at the Lac du Bonnet Town Dock and Beach. 

In fall and winter, you can come to bowl or curl or lace them up for a game of shinny or skating at the Lac du Bonnet Arena. You can also bundle up and hit the wilderness for cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and ice fishing (and come back into town for a hot drink when you’re done.)

Summer

Swimming 

With more than 60 kilometres of waterways, there is no shortage of space for aquatic activities, many of which can be done right from the Lac du Bonnet Town Dock and Beach. The beach has beautiful sand and play structures, as well as a pier and places to fish. The pier is also home to Manitoba's best Fireworks display on the Canada Day weekend.

Fishing and Boating 

Lac du Bonnet is one of the most popular destinations in the province for sport and professional fishing, with our lakes and rivers offering the chance to reel in Bass, Channel Cat, Goldeye, Northern Pike, Perch, Walleye, and more. Fish from the Town Pier, Winnipeg River Bridge, Dike along Hwy #11, or from your boat. For the cold weather enthusiasts, Lac du Bonnet also offers great ice fishing.

Please remember that a Pleasure Craft Operator Card is required to operate power-driven boats and watercraft in Canada.You can obtain a Pleasure Craft Operator Card by passing a Transport Canada Accredited boating safety test.

Golfing

Grab your clubs and get ready to tee off. Within a 30-minute drive of Lac du Bonnet there are six picturesque golf courses that offer a variety of challenging levels.

  • Black Bear Golf Club: 9 holes, 10 minutes from town
  • Granite Hills Golf Club: 18 holes, 15 minutes from town 
  • Pinawa Golf Club: 18 holes, 20 minutes from town
  • Mars Sandhills Resort & Golf Course: 18 holes, 20 minutes from town
  • Pine Falls Golf Club: 9 holes, 35 minutes from town
  • Rivers Edge Golf and Country Club in Beausejour: 9 holes, 35 minutes from town

Halliday Park

Parkwood/Fernwood Boat Launch and Picnic Area 
Located on Parkwood Bay off Fernwood Lane.

Winnipeg River Bridge Boat Launch and Park Area
Located on PR 317, just after the Winnipeg River Bridge.

Wood Duck Boat Launch and Park Area
Located off Wood Duck Bend.

Osprey Boat Launch and Park Area
Located just north of Osprey Crescent.

Blueberry Rock
Blueberry Rock Hiking Trails are located on Blueberry Rock Drive. Trek the 1.8 km trail with plenty of wildlife, and blueberries for picking. 

Sunova Ball Park
Features baseball diamonds. 

Sparmen Park
Is the spot for a set of tennis or two.

Memorial Park
Located on Park Avenue, Lac du Bonnet. In addition to being the home of the Lac du Bonnet War Memorial and Cenotaph - features a play structure and playing field.

Leslie Park 
Located at the South end of Park Avenue, Lac du Bonnet Features an accessible play structure, basketball courts, flower gardens, and a walking trail.

Lakeside Park 
Features a walking trail and spectacular waterfront views.

The Lac du Bonnet Town Dock and Beach 
Is the central hub for summer lake life and features, a pier, spots to fish, boat launches, a Riverwalk, play structures.

Lac du Bonnet Wildlife Pond 
The Lac du Bonnet Wildlife Association Pond featuring rainbow and brown trout, is located on PTH 11, 1 mile North of the junction of PR 313. The Lac du Bonnet Wildlife Association encourages "catch and release" to ensure a high quality angling experience for everyone. Provincial Parks

There are a variety of Provincial Parks to enjoy just a short trip away from Lac du Bonnet including the Agassiz Provincial Forest, Old Pinawa Dam Provincial Park, Nopiming Provincial Park, and Whiteshell Provincial Park.

Winter

Snowmobiling

From Lac du Bonnet snowmobile enthusiasts can travel in any direction over hundreds of kilometers of well-groomed trails — complete with warm-up huts —through some of the most scenic terrain in the country. The Lee River Snow Riders, Nopiming Snomads, and Eastman Snowpals Inc.,  — all members of Snowmobilers of Manitoba — work hard to keep the trails groomed and in tip-top condition.

Curling

The Lac du Bonnet Curling Club operates all winter long and hosts youth, men's, women's, seniors’, and mixed leagues in addition to tournaments in February and March.

Hockey and Ice Skating

The Lac du Bonnet Arena offers a full range of activities from youth to adult programs in both hockey and figure skating. The arena is home to the Lac du Bonnet Blues Senior Hockey Club. 

Cross Country Skiing 

The Lac du Bonnet Cross Country Ski Club grooms and maintains the Lac du Bonnet Cross Country Ski Trails along PR 317.
